Someone rang me claiming to be from ao.com about extending my warranty. They knew my name, the washing machine I bought, and even my old card details. They asked for a one-off payment, and when I said I was on furlough and couldn’t manage that, they suggested a monthly plan. They said someone would call back to sort it out. It’s only after they’d ended the call and I checked my emails that I realised I’d never actually signed up for any service plan for the washer.

Got a call from someone claiming they were checking if I had the right cover for my fridge freezer. They mentioned still having my card info saved. They rattled off some digits I supposedly agreed with (none of which looked familiar) and said it was from a WELLS FARGO card. Seriously? I just went with their nonsense for a bit till they abruptly ended the call.

Not sure who was trying to reach me since I never picked up, but after I cut off one of those "we're calling about a crash you weren't to blame for" types, my phone buzzed with 4 more blocked calls all within a minute. They had also dropped me a message, which I responded to with a few choice words that weren’t exactly polite.
