They just stayed quiet for a bit and then ended the call.

seems like a scam to me - i've had loads of calls from numbers starting with 020 3775 then bits like 1795, 1397, 1260, 1337, 1508, 1251, 1271 and such, never once did they leave a voicemail. i picked up the last call and it was definitely a Carphone Warehouse scam. they sound really convincing at first, but then they ask you to pay a small amount upfront on your card, and that's when you know it's dodgy!
