Got a call earlier from a 0300 number saying they were from the tax fraud department. They told my missus to press 1 or they'd come and arrest her. She was left shaking after the call ended, but thankfully she’d gone and cut them off before I could tell her to just ignore it all.

It was a scam, calling about my washing machine insurance or something like that. When I asked them to explain, they just ended the call straight away. Definitely dodgy.

They definitely must be using old info they’ve bought through dodgy means. They called my mobile, knew my maiden name and even my parents’ address! Kept talking about some washing machine warranty. When I told them they had the wrong details, the bloke just dropped the call. Tried ringing the number back and got an automated voice saying, “Hi, this is DAG. Sorry we missed you. Press 9 if you want off our marketing list and we won’t bother you again.” Yeah right, no chance I’m pressing 9 - not trusting them one bit. Hopefully Ofcom will get involved once I report them.

Sounds fishy to me, pretty annoying too. Feels like they're trying to match names to numbers for some dodgy reason. Got a call from DAG about some washing machine warranty, and honestly they were so rude. It’s really worrying, especially for elderly or people living alone. Received a call where the individual inquired if I was Miss Xxx, using my maiden name. I confirmed that it was my previous name but mentioned I have since changed it. They promptly disconnected the line. Trying to ring back, I encountered a recorded message stating DAG or DAT, yet there was no way to speak to a person.

Upon my first unintentional reply-mistaking the caller for a legitimate entity or service-I endeavoured to block or contest the calls, yet it was to no avail. Now, I simply resort to deleting them. Quite frankly, it’s utterly unacceptable. I refuse to accept that there isn’t a feasible way for someone or some authority to proactively confront, terminate, or legally pursue those behind these deceitful schemes. Given that I carry my phone with me constantly due to certain disabilities, having it readily accessible is imperative for me.

Around 3:25pm on January 24th, I picked up my mobile and a man with a strange accent started talking, mentioning my name and something about a washing machine, though I couldn’t properly get what he was saying. I told him I couldn’t hear him clearly, as he sounded all muffled. Then he repeated my name back, saying I was muffled! It was pretty obviously a scam, so I just hung up straight away. Kinda creepy that they already have both my phone number and my name.
