Twice this week, I got a call from a bloke with quite a strong Asian accent who claimed to be John Williams from NatWest's fraud department. He kept telling me there was some dodgy activity on my account and asked for my bank details. Felt a bit off to me.

Sounds like a scam to me, I could hear a busy office in the background and the caller had a weird foreign accent. Definitely dodgy.

No idea who they thought they were, but they never bothered to say who they were or hit the button needed to get past the new guardian on our fancy landline. To me, that’s a dead giveaway it was a scammer. Scam off, you mug. Honestly, I’d recommend these phones to anyone - they stop the phone ringing all the time. It only rings if someone’s on your approved list, or if someone not on the list has actually taken the effort to leave their name and press the right button to get through, then it’s up to you if you want to pick up.

They claimed to be from the telephone preference service - yeah right, what a joke! They wanted me to give my details over the phone to keep my 'subscription' going. I said I’d sort it out online like everyone else does, and then they just hung up on me.

I got a call from someone saying they were with the telephone preference service but as soon as I asked for proof of who they were, they just ended the call. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call that seemed like it was from a mobile number, but there was a long pause before they started asking weird questions. When I asked who they were, they just wouldn't say. Later found out it was some kind of capquest thing.
