Got a call about adding some extra cover to my life insurance. The bloke already had loads of my info but asked for my date of birth to confirm. Was a bit hesitant to share it at first, but eventually did. He joked saying the only reason he wanted it was to send me a birthday card or something. He said he could improve my life cover but then cut off the call shortly after, without actually telling me any details or offers. Kinda annoyed I gave out my DOB now.

I got a missed call from this number and decided to ring it back. Turns out it’s from a firm called Sure Cover. I looked them up and found out they’re an insurance company focusing on appliances. I’ve never used their services, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number. I’m pretty sure they’ll be calling me from another number soon enough.

complete con, called me claiming i’d got a life insurance policy with them and wanted to confirm a few things - sounded very polished, a bit of an accent too, used all the fancy terms. when i asked a question, they just hung up straight away. if this was the life insurance one, and the earlier post was about hmrc, then no doubt it’s all just a scam.
