Blimey, their thick Indian accent is something else, and you can hear a proper racket in the background, like a crowded call centre. It's clearly a dodgy boiler room scam. They're keen to discuss your energy contract and persuade you to switch to British Gas - yes, that’s right, British Gas! They haven’t a clue what they’re on about, but they persistently hound you for your meter supply number. Whatever you do, don’t hand that over. So, yesterday, we kept them on the line for over half an hour, bouncing them from one person to another, then pretended our energy supplier was up a ladder fetching the invoice they wanted - but hilariously, he fell and needed to ring back today. Which they did! This time, it was a good 15 minutes before we finally cut them off, only for them to ring us back straight away. We ended up keeping them on hold for another ten minutes! It was an absolute hoot on a Friday afternoon. Just beat them at their own game!
