Got a call about some insurance for my fuse box. Told the bloke it’s actually owned by my housing association and ended the call. Had a quick look at my bank statements afterwards and nothing odd was charged.

The first caller was quite rude, claiming I'd had this insurance for ages and even threatened that he could withdraw money straight from my bank. Weirdly, he mentioned a password that’s only been used since we got our puppy about a year ago. When I asked today’s caller when I last paid, they just hung up on me. Just a heads up to anyone else - watch out for these sorts of calls!

I was proper annoyed and let him know exactly what I thought (not very polite, I admit). then he just ended the call.

They keep dodging any proper company name and are hassling my 84-year-old mum, trying to get £60 off her to cancel some supposed nuisance call protection contract. They even threatened to nick £145 from her bank for supposed arrears going back three years or drag her to court. She was absolutely distraught, trembling and crying. I answered the phone next and after they started being rude to me, I let them have it with some choice Anglo-Saxon language and told them exactly where to go.

This number rang me up claiming my white goods insurance needed renewing and that I’d supposedly cancelled my cover, causing me to be charged double. They insisted I’d signed some papers back in 2018 to confirm this. I asked them to send me the documents in the post for proof, but they wouldn’t back down. Suddenly, they said they were going to take the money straight from my bank and pressed some button - then the call just cut off.

I never got the company name, but the guy said his name was Henry. He was going on about some insurance for our tv. First, he asked for £60, then when I said I wanted to cancel, he bumped it up to £104. When I still refused to pay, he claimed it was over £300 because I supposedly said on a recorded call that I wouldn't pay. I asked him to send something in writing to prove it, and then he just hung up on me.

Some bloke rang me about a policy my other half supposedly got for a Panasonic telly back in Jan 2019. Told him straight up we never signed up for anything like that on any TV. He didn’t wanna believe me. So, we had a look through our bank statements from that time, no charges from that firm or anything matching the amount. Honestly, I reckon this call was dodgy enough to be considered DANGEROUS.

Got a call from some company called Cover Time Direct. They claimed my husband had signed up for a £99 policy back in January 2019 for a Panasonic TV. Thing is, we never bought any insurance like that for a TV. I even went through our bank statements from around that time and there’s no sign of any payment like that. Honestly, I reckon this lot could be dodgy and should be flagged as suspicious.

I never got the name of the firm, but the guy called about a five-year TV insurance policy, trying to get hold of my mum. He even knew the brand, which was bought from some catalogue.
