I received an inquiry in such proper English, asking about my late father who has sadly passed on.

A bloke calling himself from Cooper Stanley Associates had a chat about Royal Dutch Shell shares. Sounded all posh and proper, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t legit.

Concerning shares that aren’t in my possession, there’s talk of making a 12% return. Sounds like a dodgy scheme to me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be CooperStanley Associates about some shares I supposedly own. I don't hold any shares, so it’s clearly a total scam.

I didn’t pick up since I had no idea who was calling, and then when it ended up on my voicemail, the call just dropped.

I tried calling back but nobody picked up. Seems like other folks have already marked this number as dodgy and not someone you should trust.

I received a call purporting to be from a firm where I own shares, mentioning something about a postponed report. They asked whether I preferred the report via post or email. However, it quickly became apparent that it was less about the report and more of an attempt to verify my details-which, mind you, can be found in the public domain. They seemed quite convincing, articulate even, which raises a bit of a red flag. I’ve encountered a similar prank before, but foolishly didn’t jot down the number. It kicked off in the same manner but then veered into unsolicited investment advice. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I received a message that purported to be from a firm for which I own shares, inquiring whether I preferred a report via email or post. However, it seems more like a ruse to verify my publicly available information and to fish for my email address, likely to ensnare me in a scam. The caller sounded very credible and articulate, which makes it all the more concerning. I’ve had a similar experience before, although I didn’t catch the number; it began in a similar vein but then proceeded to offer dubious investment guidance. Quite risky, if you ask me!

Totally a scam, don’t trust it.

0203 769 8232 called me out of the blue talking about the value of “shares” I supposedly own! Funny thing, they already had my full name and address, which would make some folks feel a bit at ease. They asked loads of questions too, but I wasn’t buying it. Definitely sounds like one of those dodgy investment scams. I just ended the call right away.

I just got a call from a very polite chap about some Royal Dutch Shares my dad used to have before he passed away. It was my mum who answered, but we’re not too keen on having a chat with him, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

Got a call on my landline from someone saying they're from Cooper Stanley, talking about some share investment I supposedly have and offering help with it. The bloke sounded really polite and articulate. I just told him I don’t share personal details on calls and wasn’t going to hand over my email address. Felt like a bit of a dodgy investment scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Cooper Stanley, giving me the usual spiel that's meant for businesses. Didn't hang around for any talk about payment though. Tried ringing the number back later, but it was dead.

I had a rather enlightening conversation with a courteous gentleman regarding shareholding insights. However, when I described the information as somewhat convoluted and requested that he send it over in writing for me to ponder, he abruptly ended the call. This reaction has left me quite intrigued; it strikes me that if his intentions were authentic, he would have no qualms about providing the details in a written format.

Got a call from some investment firm, a guy called David. He seemed to know exactly what shares I own and mentioned some deal for long-term investors starting that Thursday. Asked for my email, but I told him to send the details by post instead. He tried insisting on calling back but when I said no more calls and to just post it, he finally backed off. Sounded very polite and quite convincing. Funny how he even knew I’m retired!

Got a call from a bloke called David, claiming he was from an investment/shares firm. He mentioned the specific shares I own and said there was a special offer for long-term investors starting this Thursday. He asked for my email, but I told him to send the details through the post instead. He kept insisting he’d ring me back, but I made it clear I didn’t want any more calls and to just post it. Eventually he gave up. Was quite polite and sounded genuine, even knew I’m retired!

Received an unexpected phone call earlier today.

I received a call from someone purporting to be affiliated with an investment firm, boasting about providing complimentary advice to long-standing shareholders like myself, who’ve been holding onto my stocks for 15 years. They mentioned figures and guidance that seemed to have been lifted right out of the shareholder register. They claimed that their tips had yielded an impressive 10% return. However, knowing that unsolicited investment calls are against the law, I politely turned down their offer and hung up.

I've been receiving calls from this number about once or twice a week, and every single time I pick up, they just hang up. As a carer for a 95-year-old lady, I feel quite uneasy about this ongoing annoyance. It strikes me as rather suspicious, as I can't help but think they might be trying to reach her for some dodgy reason. It's concerning, to say the least!
