I got a call from someone telling me I was entitled to a £3750 PPI refund, even though I never filled out any forms. They said the money would be dropped off at 2pm today. The woman on the phone, who said her name was Emma Dixon, sounded really dodgy. When I told her I found the whole thing fishy, she just kept insisting I'd get the cash and that I'd need to show photo ID. Then she put me through to a bloke called Melvin, supposedly her supervisor, who offered to reschedule the delivery. That’s when he mentioned a £375 payment via iTunes gift card, claiming it was necessary. I told him it all seemed too dodgy and asked for something in writing instead, plus a cheque for the refund. He went quiet. When I said I was checking their number online and it seemed sketchy, he stopped talking altogether - just background noise. I decided to hang up, and of course, I never heard back from them. What a surprise.

Got a call from this number earlier today (16/02/17), saying my wife was owed £3750 in PPI from Halifax, and that the money would be sent in cash to our house. Thing is, she's never claimed any PPI before. The woman on the phone didn’t even seem bothered that I was the one answering; she just assumed I was the person claiming. I ended up talking to two women from the same place, both sounded Asian. The first one said her name was "Stella", and the second, who said she was with the Financial Conduct Authority, gave the name "Nancy Firman". They mentioned they'd deliver the cash to us at noon tomorrow. Apparently, we're expected to give 10% of that amount to the claims firm, though I’m not sure how exactly they want that paid. "Nancy" is supposed to ring me again before the delivery to sort out the details.
