Got a call from someone called "Michael" saying he was with "Callguard" and wanted to upgrade my call-blocking. Total scam, no doubt. I wasn’t having any of it and gave him a proper hard time.

They kept ringing me and said they were some kind of call blocker, but I told them straight up they weren’t and that I was the one blocking their number.

Got a call from 02037693910 saying they were UK Call Guard working with my phone provider. But it didn't make sense to me - if they're from my phone company, why on earth would they need my bank info to set up a call blocker? They should already have my direct debit details anyway. They kept insisting I had to upgrade this call blocker and were quite forceful about it. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from Michael regarding my phone line, asking about a new name and postcode. Then, not long after, I received a mobile call claiming to be from BT about my internet. Seems dodgy, probably just a scam.

Got a call from a number I didn't recognise, no voicemail left. Just ended up blocking it.

Got a call from a guy named Michael who somehow already knew my name. He began chatting about call blocking stuff, which I didn’t understand at all. I just said I had no idea what he meant and hung up. After seeing all the other comments, I’m pretty sure he was aware I’m 85 and is going after older people like me, so watch out for this!

Got a call from some woman with an accent I couldn’t place, saying it was about telephone security. I asked what company she was with and told her I’d never heard of them, then said I needed to answer the door. When I got back, the line was dead. Pretty sure it was just another dodgy scam trying to trick me.

They actually knew my address and name, which freaked me out. Somehow, their call slipped through the blocking on my landline. They began mentioning some sort of phone blocking service, but I quickly told them it was a scam and hung up straightaway.

She had my address and name right away, but I could barely make out what she was saying. It was something about a call blocking service that comes with a fee. I told her I’m on a pension and can’t really afford any extra payments. I don’t know if she understood how tough things are for us now, but she sounded quite sorry and said thanks for taking the time to talk.

I got a call trying to sell me some call blocker thing. I said no thanks, and then they just hung up on me. Blocked their number right away.

Got a weird call today from someone offering a security box for our phone line. They couldn't properly say where they were ringing from or even their company. When I asked who their supplier was, they just didn’t have a clue. Felt really dodgy.

Spoke with a really thick South Asian accent, honestly could barely make out a word. Definitely seemed like one of those dodgy scam calls.

The guy had a really bad accent and started yammering about upgrading our line, even though we switched to digital voice just last week. I wasn’t very polite and told him to buzz off.

This was definitely one of those "call blocking device" cons. I even told the person on the phone that half a dozen other people have called me with the same scam.

Today this number rang me for the second time in a month. The caller spoke all posh this time, trying the same old routine. They said they’d sorted out my call blocker and offered a discount ‘cause I’m retired. They were slowly trying to get my details out of me. I told them I’ve never had a call blocker, don’t need one either, then they claimed I had an account with them already. I cut them off right then and there, told them I wasn’t buying any of it, and hung up.

Got a call earlier today from someone who claimed they’d upgrade my call blocker for an extra £1.79 a month. I told them I don’t have a call blocker, but they insisted I did. Then they said since I’m a pensioner, I’d be lucky and only have to pay a one-off fee of £1.79. When they asked for my bank details, it was clear to me it was a scam. I told them I’d be contacting Sky, my phone provider, then hung up.

Got a ring from this number earlier, and the person on the line seemed to know a lot about me. They claimed they were offering an upgrade to my phone's call blocking system at a discounted rate of £179, specially for pensioners. They said all I had to do was provide my sort code. As the chat went on, they kept pushing how urgent and important the upgrade was. I got suspicious and decided not to share any bank details. In the end, I just told them to get lost and hung up. These scammers are honestly the worst.

I'm based on the Fylde coast and got a call from this number recently. A woman spoke directly, no robot or recorded message, and she even said my name right. She mentioned they were offering phone blocking gadgets in my area. When I asked about the price, she was a bit unclear, saying something about some folks paying for it. I told her I already use a free service. At first, it seemed like a legit call.
