They gave it a right go trying to scam me, but it never worked. I couldn’t understand any of their English and had no clue where they were calling from. Then this woman said she needed to get a manager, but the bloke that came on was even more useless. Watch out for these lot!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Carphone Warehouse, saying there was a special January sale on. It sounded dodgy straight away when they mentioned I could keep my number and stay with my current network, but I’m with Three and Carphone Warehouse doesn’t deal with them. I ended the call and double-checked with Carphone Warehouse directly - they told me it was definitely a scam. Be careful and never share your bank info with callers like that!

I called the bank and told them to cancel my card straight away. Then I kept an eye on my account for a couple of days to watch for anything weird. Make sure to inform the bank if you think your account got exposed by mistake.

They kept ringing me over and over, but they were always very nice and friendly, so I kinda trusted them. It was always the same person calling me back at different times. The offer sounded pretty decent. But then I spotted my Vodafone account mentioned, so I phoned them up straight away. I told them I wanted to cancel and wouldn’t be going ahead with it. After that, they got a bit annoyed and kept pushing me, saying I could still cancel within 14 days. But I wasn’t having any of it and refused to accept the deal.

**BEWARE OF THIS SCAM**
I got a call offering an amazing phone deal, but they ended up asking for loads of personal details like my full name, date of birth, address and even bank info such as sort code, account number, cvv and expiry date.

They then went ahead and made a contract on sites like Vodafone, purposely choosing the wrong colour phone, probably because they can only deliver to the registered address. When I got the phone and noticed the colour was wrong, they told me to send it back by post to some random address through Royal Mail. Don’t do this - by sending it yourself you’re basically paying to return it, unlike proper companies that provide a prepaid returns label. If you’ve been caught out in this way, block your bank cards immediately, contact Action Fraud, add a credit file password and inform the police about the scam and the address involved.
