0203 769 2407 My mum got a call earlier today and heard a recorded voice claiming to be from the Police, saying they had to discuss some incident with her. Luckily, she didn’t answer and instead rang the police herself (which was me!). I reassured her it was a scam for sure. I’ve checked on this site to be certain. Big thanks to everyone for sharing info like this. Make sure to warn older family members about these dodgy calls!

Recently, I received a telephone call from a lady of Indian origin. During the conversation, she informed me that the call was being recorded. She stated that the HMRC was planning to take legal action against me for tax fraud. According to her, I owed a sum of £1987 which needed to be paid immediately. If not paid, she warned that the police would seize my assets up to the value of £96000. Sensibly, I told her that I would need to discuss this matter further with my husband and employers before taking any action. I assured her that I would contact her again on Thursday. However, she was insistent that the payment be made without delay. Recognizing it as a scam, and finding it rather disconcerting, I promptly ended the call to protect myself from potential harm.

Today, my neighbour, who is 86 years old, received a phone call from individuals who claimed that he was facing a prosecution. These individuals can only be described as parasites, taking advantage of vulnerable individuals.

Once again, we have individuals attempting to exploit those who are vulnerable.
