some bloke with a funny accent rang me up and asked for me by name, saying it was about fixing things in my flat (i'm waiting on repairs from the housing lot). when i asked him which housing association he was with, he just hung up! so i phoned my housing people and they said it wasn’t them at all. clearly another scammer messing about!

hi everyone, just wanted to say we've been getting loads of calls and letters about the phone number 02037690893. that is definitely not our number and we've got no connection to those calls. please be careful and treat anything from that number as a scam. we've already informed the police about this, so fingers crossed it gets sorted soon. from all of us at claims assessors limited

My elderly mum got a call from someone claiming they could lower her phone bill. They never said who they were, but they asked for her personal info and she ended up giving it to them. Turns out, it was a scam and they tricked her.

I got a call from a firm that said they were called Claim Assessors Ltd, supposedly based in Preston, but they were using a London phone number. It’s a classic PPI scam where they claim you’ve won your PPI claim but you have to pay a solicitor’s fee first before they’ll release any money. Don’t be fooled by this rubbish! The number they use is 020 3769 2333. These scammers keep harassing decent folks, and honestly, something needs to be done to put an end to it.
