I received a pre-recorded call from an energy supplier advertising their latest deals for both gas and electricity services.

Judging by what others have said here, it’s obvious this is a con call. I don't bother with blocking them anymore (my landline only lets me block 10 numbers anyway) since they just switch to another number straight away. These days, I just ignore my landline completely - all my mates and family know to ring me on my mobile if they need to get hold of me.
