Yesterday afternoon, on the 4th of June 2021, I got another call from someone saying she was 'Kate' from Home Appliances Services. I'd already mentioned her call on the 3rd of June. Both times she wanted to speak to me directly by name. They tried to con me into renewing my fridge freezer warranty for an extra two years. I've put the number on my block list now.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, but I wasn’t in when they rang. With all the thousands of comments on this thread, looks like it’s a bit of a scam for sure.

Got a call from a woman who knew my name and says my washing machine insurance was about to expire. I told her I don't believe that's right. She just said bye and then ended the call.

No message left on my voicemail again by these time wasters. Really hope they’re wasting their cash.

Finally spoke to someone real! She said a weird name, maybe "Daphne Hame" or something, but it was hard to make out. Said the warranty on my fridge had run out and pushed me to buy something straight away. When I asked who she actually was or which company she was from, she got all annoyed and told me to pay without asking questions. Then she just hung up. Really odd way for a scam to work!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, but there was no voicemail left, so I figured it was probably some dodgy scam. If it was someone legit, they’d have left a message, right? Made me wonder what would happen if you picked up and just said, “Hello, it’s done, but there’s blood all over,” kinda like those creepy jokes you find online!

There was a pause for a couple of seconds (classic scam move, obviously) then some Indian lady picked up. I only managed to say "Hello" before I just ended the call. It's mad that more than 2,000 folks have flagged this number, yet no one's been tracked down or stopped!

I got a call from someone saying they were with Amazon, but when I asked who they wanted to talk to, they said it was confidential and wouldn’t tell me anything about my name or address. It's kinda creepy that this person actually knew my name, which doesn't happen often. I get loads of scam calls, but normally they don't know anything personal about me. This feels different and a bit concerning. I’m not sure how they found out since I hardly ever use my landline.

Had a call from 02037583727 around 1:37 pm, this person was telling me my washing machine’s warranty had run out. I just kept nodding along and they launched into why I needed to renew it through them. When they asked for my birthday, I flat out refused and said I’d ring back. I even asked what their company name was, and then the guy got really rude, calling me a silly woman for “wasting his time” - all because they were the ones who dialled me in the first place!

Really glad I got a call blocker on my BT phone, cos this number never managed to ring me through. I just looked at all the complaints about it and honestly, anyone dealing with annoying calls should get proper call blocking. Not sure if other providers offer the same but since I got mine, scam calls have totally stopped. The caller has to say who they are before it rings through, which is a great filter.

So this woman called me up and said she knew my name and told me my fridge warranty was up. I dug out the receipt real quick and yep, she was spot on - bought my Bosch fridge/freezer back in December 1994! Can you believe it still works perfectly? Of course, I knew it was a scam straight away.

Totally a scam. Someone called trying to get me to buy a 2-year cover on my washing machine. Their whole spiel was terrible. They kept saying they’d post me all the info. At first, it sounded like it wouldn’t cost anything. But then the lady started going on about the price, saying it wasn’t £30 monthly, not £20, not even £10 - just £6.99 a month. Honestly, it was like something straight out of Only Fools and Horses, bit of a Del Boy vibe. What threw me off was they actually knew my name. She asked me to verify my date of birth, and when I said no thanks, she just hung up on me.

Looks like a total scam to me. I checked for Homeserve’s phone number, and it’s actually 03300247002, not some 020 number like this one 02037583727. They don’t use 020 numbers at all. Don’t share any personal info if they call from that number - I’ve already blocked it.

When I asked which fridge it covered, she didn’t even blink and said it applies to any brand, no questions asked. Didn’t matter that my fridge is over twenty years old either. She was well rehearsed with her lines. Definitely a scam!

Got a ring from a guy named Jason Morris, but he had a funny accent so not sure if that’s even his real name. Didn’t say who he was working for at first, had to press him a bit before he spat out “Home Serve”. Claimed they were offering an extended warranty for my fridge. Without a doubt, this was one of those dodgy appliance scams. The woman on the phone was annoyingly persistent and used a friendly tone to spin a whole load of rubbish. She even had the cheek to deny it was a scam when I challenged her. She had no clue about the appliances I actually own, just throwing out guesses left and right. Pretty clear they were fishing for my bank or card info to charge me for some fake extended warranty. Why don’t the phone providers do more to block these horrible calls? It’s beyond frustrating.

I had calls from people pushing appliance warranties - don’t give them any details, even if they use your name. They’re linked with loads of other dodgy firms, all operating out of Brighton, and they swap your info between them, with names that almost sound the same. They managed to sell my parents cover for appliances that aren’t even there! Luckily I managed to get a refund and stopped the Direct Debit, but honestly, these lot are just crooks. Best just block their number and move on.

Some bloke named Jason rang me up, calling me by my first name and saying my fridge warranty was running out. Thing is, I ain't got any extra cover on the fridge, so I reckon it was a dodgy call. I was polite and told him I’m not interested in any cover, then blocked the number straight away. Usually, I just let these calls ring out and then check the number afterwards before blocking, but this time I answered. My phone’s call-blocker already gets loads of them, so this one’s added to the growing list.

Got a call about extending the warranty on my washing machine but it's well past 6 years old, so it has no guarantee left. When I told them I didn't want it, they just ended the call. Pretty sure it was just a scam.

Calls nearly every day, always three times but never actually talks or leaves a message, just ends the call abruptly.

02037583727 Got a call out of the blue about some extended warranty for my washing machine. Oddly, the guy said it was nearly time to renew it - I got it from Currys, so how’d he know that? He said they’d extend it for no extra cost, then just went "Alright?" I was a bit confused and asked him to repeat himself. Suddenly, he cut me off. I reckon if I’d said ‘okay’, he’d have asked for my bank info, which would’ve set alarm bells ringing for me, but others might not be so cautious. Jill

I got a call from 02037583727 claiming they were from a home appliances company. They said they wanted to offer an extra 3 year warranty on my washing machine. When I told them I wasn’t interested in paying for it, they just cut me off straight away. Seems like a total scam to me, so I wouldn’t share any personal info with them.

When i answered, there was just silence on the other end. I find it’s best to stay quiet for a bit, it seems to throw their auto voice off. After waiting a moment, i just ended the call and looked up the number on this site!

Called back and no one spoke when I answered.

There was a silence at first, then a voice came on and asked, “Hello, could I speak with…” I quickly replied, “Sorry, they’re not available right now, goodbye.” I figured it was probably one of those scams about fridge or washing machine guarantees.

Got a call from Jason about some sort of warranty for my fridge. Thing is, I've never had any warranty on it except for that original one when I first bought it 14 years back.

This morning, I got a call from this number and the moment I answered, everything went silent and then they just hung up. I seem to get quite a few calls like this.

I got a call from someone who sounded like they might be American, saying they were from a company dealing with warranties and maybe repairs for appliances like washing machines. I suspected it was dodgy, so I asked where they were located, and they said 'Wormowld' or something like that - didn’t really make sense. If they're offering repairs, that probably means coming to your house, which could be risky, especially for older folks who might be more vulnerable.

As soon as I picked up, they just cut the call - probably juggling a bunch of calls at the same time. Didn’t even get to hear what they were trying to sell.

I just ignored the call and let it ring out, but no message was left on my voicemail.

It felt like a bit of a rip-off or at least something sketchy - they were trying to sell me breakdown cover for my fridge, something like £8 a month for two years. I reckon it’s just a sneaky way to grab your bank info for a direct debit or something.

Got a call from someone saying they were representing a home insurance firm, said my fridge cover had run out. I don’t buy that sort of insurance unless it’s complimentary. Asked her what country she was phoning from, and I could hear her breathing out annoyed. She kept going on about the cover ending, so I asked “when exactly?”. Then she just cut me off. Pretty sure she realised I wasn’t falling for it. Absolute pests. Scammers.

I picked up the phone but there was silence on the other end, so I just ended the call.
