I got a call from this landline number about half an hour ago. The person said they were from some government agency that helps tenants reclaim their deposit protection certificates. I told them I couldn’t deal with it right then, but they kept pushing, trying to get me to share personal info and even wanted to set up another time to chat. They acted like I wasn’t bothered about getting my deposit back. The bloke got annoyed when I didn’t play ball and just ended the call. Feels like a scam to me, definitely not a real government service.

After finally getting through, the person said they were from some "Tenancy Collection Helpline," which turned out to be a bogus name. Obviously a scam, so best to avoid any contact with them.
