Received a call from what seemed like your run-of-the-mill cold caller, complete with the usual din of boiler room chatter in the backdrop. The chap insisted he was representing StratX Markets based out of London, and somehow had my name as well as my number. However, he seemed utterly clueless about the Telephone Preference Service. It’s quite clear he was going off some suspect prospect list, blatantly disregarding both the Data Protection Act and FSA regulations.

Not once did he mention anything about opting out of their database.

Received a rather dodgy cold call from a place claiming to be StratX Markets, not far from London. The chap on the other end had the usual commotion of a call centre buzzing in the background. He had my name and, naturally, my number, which raised a few eyebrows. When I mentioned the Telephone Preference Service, he looked quite baffled, suggesting he must be operating on some dodgy prospect list going about without a care for the Data Protection Act or the rules set by the Financial Services Authority. There was no mention of my details being wiped from their system either. Quite the cheek!

I’ve received several calls from this number, but it’s one I don’t recognise at all.

Received a call on my mobile at precisely 6:09 PM on the 12th of February, 2015. They didn’t bother to leave a message. I have a strict policy of not returning calls from unfamiliar numbers that don’t leave any voicemail. If a number tries its luck twice, it straight onto my blacklist in Mr Number.
