2 yearsI’ve been hounded by a woman claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that my computer’s been compromised. I wasn’t keen on engaging, so I ended the call. To my astonishment, she rang me back from a different line, demanding to know why I’d cut her off. She went on to threaten that if I didn’t cooperate, she’d block my computer, leaving me with no choice but to trek all the way to Reading to sort it out. Since then, I’ve received five calls from various numbers, all with the same alarming message. When I finally confronted her, asserting my suspicion that it was a scam, she lost her temper and shouted at me. Honestly, I’m feeling quite distressed and unsettled by the whole episode.
