9 monthsOn the 2nd of October, 2025, I answered a scam call.1 yearI told em I was with national security and they just shut the phone on me, lol 😆6 yearsI had a rather unsettling experience with this number recently, as they left a message on my voicemail that raised quite a few alarms. The caller identified himself as Officer Dennis Grey from HMRC, and the tone of the message was urgent, to say the least. He stated, "the matter we're dealing with is of utmost urgency. You can reach my department directly at 02037432085. It's crucial that you take this seriously and get in touch. If there's no response from either you or your legal representative, be prepared for potential legal repercussions. Goodbye and take care." This message strikes me as potentially perilous, especially for those who might be more susceptible to such tactics. It's truly concerning how such communications can affect vulnerable individuals.Dennis GreyHMRC6 yearsGot a call earlier with the same story about a taxi, rang back and some scammer answered straight away. Watch out everyone!6 yearsI got an automated phone call from a lady's voice saying it was the HMRC. She told me or my lawyer had to ring back straight away or else I’d be sent to prison. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it. HMRC always gets in touch by letter first and they never threaten you with jail or court stuff over the phone. Be careful!HMRC6 yearsI got a call saying I owed tax and could end up behind bars if I didn’t sort it out. Well, luck to them because I’m already locked up! The police picked me up ages ago and I’m serving a 6-year sentence now. I’m not working or paying any tax right now, and funny enough, I’ve got a smartwatch with a sim card whilst in prison.6 yearsah, classic dennis gray from hmre again - of course it's "urgent" and suddenly i'm supposed to be going to jail - just bin itDennis GrayHM Revenue and Customs6 yearsGot a creepy automated message from someone saying they were Officer Danish Grey at HMRC, threatening me with jail time if I didn’t ring them straight away. Felt really sketchy and worrying.Danish GreyHMRC6 yearsGot two missed calls from this number earlier. When I rang back, some bloke claimed I was going to be hauled up in the high court because I hadn’t replied to HMRC about owing £5000 in unpaid tax. They asked for my solicitor’s info. The man hung up on me twice, then kept me waiting on hold. On the third try, it was clearly the same person pretending it was someone different. Proper scam if you ask me.High CourtHMRC6 yearsGot a recorded message saying it was from HMRC, sounded dodgy. Best not to ring them back.HMRC6 yearsHad a call from someone saying they were from HM Revenue, sounded pretty dodgy to me. They kept pressuring me for personal info, so I just hung up. Wouldn’t trust those kind of calls at all.6 yearsI didnt pick up the phone but rang back the number. Some bloke answered as ‘hmrc’ and claimed there was an ongoing probe into my tax affairs. He gave me a name and case reference then asked about my job. I told him i’m retired and 75 years old, to which he said he must have made a mistake and i’m not involved at all. Really seems like a proper scam. Since landlines can be tracked pretty easily, why arent the authorities doing something about this?HMRC6 yearsThis number's totally pretending to be from HMRC, but it's definitely a scam. Don’t fall for it!6 yearsGot a voicemail warning me not to ignore it or else I’d be arrested because it’s supposedly really dangerous. Bit sketchy if you ask me.6 yearsGot a call earlier that seemed like one of those fake HMRC ones, sounded totally automated.HM Revenue and Customs6 yearsMy mobile rang and when I picked up, I was met with a dodgy recorded message claiming to be from HMRC. I didn't waste my time listening to the whole thing.HMRC6 yearsGot a robo call earlier pretending to be from hmrcl - total scam, watch out!HM Revenue and Customs6 yearsHad a robo call from 02037432085, totally suspicious and looks like a scam. What puzzles me is why the police aren’t doing anything about it? Since this number’s clearly dodgy, shouldn’t they be cracking down on it? First thing they should do is block it. Instead, they’re busy handing out fines to folks just trying to visit family a few miles away. Ridiculous really.Submit Your Own Report (020 3743 2085)
