Got a call from someone called Luther, who claimed I’d just done a survey. I said yes, but honestly, the bloke who came to my door didn’t show any ID, and he spoke really quickly with a northern accent, which made it hard to follow. Then on the phone, he asked me to confirm my address but gave me the wrong door number, which made me pretty wary. After that, he said his computer was slow and he’d ring back in half an hour. I’ve blocked the number now, seemed really dodgy and unprofessional.

Someone rang me from 0203 7403976, had called 3 times already. On the 4th attempt I picked up, thinking it might be important. They said they were checking my life insurance as part of some review group. I wasn’t convinced and told them surely my own insurer would be the one to contact me about my policy. Got a call from a woman earlier today, I didn’t answer though. Later, she sent a text with a link asking about my opinion on the police in London. Then she called again after a bit. I've had a few attempts from this number trying to reach me over the past week. They even dropped me a note regarding a survey connected to the Mayor and crime rates. So, when I answered the phone yesterday, I immediately recalled the mention of the mayor and the crime topic. Ive found some details online about legit ones - if someone calling from ORS rings you, you can check they're genuine by phoning ORS on their free number 0800 107 7890. Real pushy - kept ringing me a few times before I finally picked up. Said they were conducting a survey about the police for the Mayor's Office. Mentioned I’d done this survey before (which I can’t recall - maybe it’s to make it seem real?). Asked for my complete postcode (which could reveal my address). Got a call from Opinion Research Services about a public attitude survey for the Mayor of London’s office. It was about policing and crime, and they didn’t ask for any personal details. I’d missed a call from them before and didn’t know the number, but after looking it up, I was happy to take part this time. The interviewer was very polite and professional. They asked some standard questions, but also gave you the option to skip ones you didn’t want to answer.

Some bloke said he was calling for the Mayor of London about a survey on their services. I just told him, 'No cheers, not interested,' and ended the call straight away.

In our home, we always try to jot down the number when the phone rings and if we don’t know who it is, we let the call go to voicemail (our friends and fam are well aware of this and always say who they are). We've realised that scammers almost never leave a voice note - maybe they’re worried about being traced through their recorded voice!

This was totally a survey scam! They say it’s a survey for something called MAZE?! 😅 Seems like they already got some info about your orders from other companies (make sure to block those trackers in your browser quickly). They act all friendly, pretending your feedback really matters blah blah. But in the end, they’ll try to grab your personal details. Don’t fall for it! I was messing about with one of these Indian callers on the phone for ages 😉😇 but they just wouldn’t quit, kept pushing. Stay alert, folks!

I've received two phone calls from a bloke discussing crime, and a woman made contact too, pushing the same narrative. She was incredibly insistent, and to make matters worse, she even mentioned my son's name. I'm curious - where on earth do these individuals source their information? It’s quite clearly a scam. I've taken the precaution of blocking the number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the Mayor of London's office asking about my thoughts on local policing. Felt a bit iffy about it so I didn’t answer any questions and just ended the call. Later, I looked it up and found out it was genuine - MOPAC stands for the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime. Their website even explains how they obtain numbers and make sure it’s all GDPR compliant.

A bloke with a Welsh accent called, sounded proper professional, asking about crime around here. He said he was doing a survey for the Mayor of London. I just hung up straight away, seemed like one of them cold calls and sounded dodgy to me. No clue where they even got my number from.

Someone said they were conducting a survey for the Mayor of London about policing. I figured if it was real, they'd send something by post, so I told them no thanks. They couldn't say how they even got my number - we never give out our landline, it's just for the building's door entry system.

A woman with a Scottish accent called, sounding quite polite and to the point. She seemed to be reading from a script, going on about some survey stuff and data protection rules. She spoke quite a bit about different EU laws. Then she asked if I was on a landline or mobile, followed by if I was over 16. After that she wanted my postcode (which I gave) and whether I owned the place. I got a bit suspicious since she never used my name at the start. So I told her I didn’t own the property. Then she said she couldn’t carry on and just ended it there.

Got a call from a guy who sounded pretty official, saying he was doing a survey for the London Mayor’s office about the police. He said it would only take about 20 minutes. I was willing to listen until he asked for my postcode. I asked why that was needed when all of London’s boroughs are covered by the Met Police anyway. I also pointed out that anyone with Google can look up a postcode and find out where you live! Then I asked how he even knew my mobile number was from London. He admitted they bought the numbers from DataSource, which sounds like a total GDPR violation to me.
