I could hardly make out what was being said on the other end of the line. They insisted on grilling me about my employment status-whether I had a permanent job, was contracting, or on the hunt for something new. Well, that was enough for me, so I decided to cut the call short.

I received a phone call today from someone identifying herself as 'April', who was supposedly representing an Accountancy company. She was inquiring whether I, as an IT contractor, would be interested in some sort of promotional offer for their services. While she came across as quite polished and professional, I can't shake the feeling that she might not be genuinely affiliated with an Accountancy firm at all.
