Received a call from someone purporting to be Alex representing BT Openreach, claiming there was an issue with my computer. He suggested I type in a specific web address into Google and report back what appeared on my screen. Naturally, I refrained from entering any website, as I've encountered numerous similar calls from individuals with distinctly Indian accents yet sporting British names-purely fraudulent, I figured. When I informed him that my screen displayed the message, "this is a scam and you're after my money," he told me to be quiet and then unleashed a stream of foul language before I promptly hung up.
