Ring rings, "Hi, how are you?" (Caller from India, connection takes a couple of seconds)
I say, "Who’s this?"
They ask, "Are you Mr *****?"
Again I say, "Who’s this?"
(silence, then they just cut the call).

Really pushy. Claimed they were ringing from the UK government and that if I didn’t answer, I’d get fined, with some “sheriff” turning up at my door the next day to serve a summons! I can see how this would terrify anyone who’s not feeling strong or clear-headed.

These lot won’t stop ringing me. When they actually say something after calling, I chuck the phone on speaker and leave it by the radio for a bit. Usually makes them quit pretty quick. Seems like they’re under the impression their minutes matter more than mine.
