This is the London Wine Investment firm. Backed by none other than Sir Alex Ferguson. They got in touch with me in October, promising to send over some information, but it never arrived. Then in January, they called me on a Thursday. I foolishly answered, asking them to send me the details and to give me a ring on the following Monday to have a proper chat. To my surprise, I got an email on Friday morning with an invoice for £2500, a contract for a deal we had only touched upon, and a form soliciting my bank details. Following that, I was bombarded with half a dozen calls on Friday, despite my explicit request for them to ring me on Monday instead! That’s not how I prefer to engage in business dealings. Even now, four weeks later, they’re still ringing me! You’d think they would take a hint, but these types will go to any lengths to extract cash from unsuspecting souls. It’s best to steer clear of this crowd, especially as the wine they peddle can easily be found for half the price elsewhere!
