I simply let it ring out. This phone line’s been going for about half a year now, all on VOIP, but I’ve never really put it out there or anything. So there’s no way this was a genuine call. The handful of times anyone’s ever rung that number, it’s been nothing but scams or annoying people trying to hassle me.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was from Google, going on about my business registration or something. He started grilling me for details so I just cut it off. I never share, confirm or deny any info when some random calls me out of the blue.

Got a voicemail from a woman saying it was some kind of business call and that she'd ring me back. The voice didn’t sound trustworthy at all and there was no number to call back. Seems dodgy, might be a SCAM!

I don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise anymore, instead, I look them up on this site first. Ended up blocking pretty much all of them. Honestly, what a ridiculous way to make money!

About 20 minutes back, I got a call from 02037140032 about claiming my business on Google. The guy, who sounded like he was Asian, said if I don’t hit the button to claim it, someone else might take it away from me. He said he’d ring me again tomorrow regarding the same.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was with Google. Honestly, Google should clear the air and say if they've hired call centres in India for gathering info! If not, this endless worrying won't stop, and I’ll just keep hanging up every time they ring.

Some lady said she worked for Google My Business and told me my business was on Google Maps and Google, but supposedly not registered (which sounds dodgy). If it’s showing up, surely it’s registered anyway. Then she asked if I was on my computer, mobile or laptop - I told her I was at work. She had an accent and said she’d ring me tomorrow morning. Yeah, as if I’m gonna be around to answer that!

I usually just hang up straight away when someone says they’re “Google from India” as it always seems a bit fishy. But this time I played along and ended up finding an old unverified page linked to me. Managed to get it taken down in the end, so maybe it wasn’t a scam like I thought!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from Google, saying my business wasn’t verified - I’m on a paid Google suite plan. He even rattled off my business address and insisted I verify it, warning someone else might snatch my listing. Told me to log into my Google account and follow some steps. I didn’t give away any info and just said I’d check it out later. Then the call suddenly dropped and I ended it. Honestly, it felt dodgy - would Google really ring me for something like that?
