That way, they waste money keeping the line open. 2. Alternatively, blast a loud whistle, a scream, or some crazy noise down the line (just check no one nearby gets caught off guard!).

Caught this caller from India just before he started his spiel. I asked straight up where he was ringing from and what company he was with. He slowly spelled out 'InfoDronics' (definitely no T in there), and I made him repeat it a few times. Apparently, they're using the "UK Home Owners Database" and claim to be working for Sky, British Gas, EDF, Scottish Power, and all the usual energy firms. They also said they're linked to Unicef and Guide Dogs for the Blind. When I tried to find out exactly where in South Asia he was based, he got twitchy and cut the call off. Feels like a win to me!
