I’ve got no loans, and I’m completely debt-free. So, what on earth is payday UK ringing me for?

I keep receiving calls from an international number, and it's rather irritating.

It’s payday here in the UK, which often means they are trying to follow up on any outstanding loans or give a nudge about upcoming payments. For the most part, I simply ignored their calls throughout the month, but today I finally picked up. To my dismay, they wouldn’t share any details because I wasn’t willing to consent to the Data Protection Act verification. I then hopped onto their live chat feature on the website, where they confirmed that the call indeed came from them. I've suggested that they list the phone number they use for calls on their website, as a quick Google search labels that number as a nuisance caller rather than something trustworthy. Sadly, the Data Protection Act mandates that they must perform DPA checks on outgoing calls to customers. It's not the most convenient arrangement, but if you ever find yourself in doubt, it's best to decline the call and reach out to the company directly yourself.

It’s payday here in the UK, and it seems they want to have a chat regarding any loans I might still owe, or perhaps a gentle nudge about payments on the horizon. I’ve been ignoring their calls all month, but today I finally picked up. Only to be met with a refusal to engage as I couldn’t get through their DPA checks. I subsequently hopped onto their live chat, and they confirmed the call was indeed from them. I suggested they should list their calling number on their website-after all, a quick Google search brands it as a nuisance call rather than a legitimate one. It’s a shame, really, but the data protection regulations mandate that they must conduct DPA checks on outgoing calls to customers. It’s less than ideal, but if you’re ever uncertain, it’s best to politely decline and reach out to the company directly yourself.

It appears to be PDUK, which stands for Pay Day UK. They're either on your case regarding an outstanding loan or trying to entice you into taking one out.

They go by the name PD UK. It's wise to refrain from disclosing any personal information to unsolicited callers. In reality, you should only share details with those you’ve contacted yourself and can verify.

While this may not qualify as a straightforward scam, they certainly lack the right to make those calls.

I've had a right nuisance with this payday loan outfit! They've buzzed my phone three times already, clearly trying to drag me into a web of debt - absolutely scandalous! I hardly ever dish out my landline, so I'm baffled as to how they got hold of it. On top of that, I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list, so they really have some cheek!

I've received a few calls from this number, and each time I pick up, there's just silence on the other end. It's quite frustrating, to say the least!

This mystery caller keeps ringing me incessantly! I generally don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, and amusingly enough, they never bother to leave a message. Quite peculiar, if you ask me!

They won't stop ringing my home phone, it’s driving me absolutely bonkers!

I got a phone call from this number, and I'm wondering who's on the other end. Can anyone shed some light on this? Cheers!

Has anyone got a clue about this number that’s been calling me repeatedly? They’ve rung several times, but there’s never anyone on the line, and they don’t leave a message either. Quite peculiar, really!

I receive calls from this number at least half a dozen times daily, and they even ring me during the night. As someone who's 70 years old, I find it terribly bothersome and quite distressing.
