Here’s a heads up for everyone. Just tell them you’re 14 and they usually won’t ring again. Also, if you pick up and there’s silence before they hang up, that’s a sign they know your number is live. After that, they might pass your info on to other firms. So, try not to answer the call straightaway.

Got a call from a woman with an African/South African accent claiming I had pre-paid gas and electric meters. When I asked, she couldn’t say where they got my info or which company she was with. Seriously, don’t give them any personal or bank details, and don’t even confirm your address. They have zero clue about where you actually live.

I've blocked one of these numbers but now a different one keeps ringing me nonstop.

At first, they asked me to pay £76 upfront just to get my loan started. After that, they said I needed to send another £250 before they could put any money in my account. That’s when I got my doubts and said no. Since then, they’ve been chasing me for £150 more, which I refused again. I asked them to refund the £76, but they just keep promising they’ll ring me back. They told me to keep an eye on my bank tonight and again tomorrow morning, but honestly, I’m not expecting anything to show up.

It was a scam for sure. I pretended to be interested at first, then told them no thanks. The guy, who sounded Asian, suddenly started getting really nervous. I just kept saying thank you, which seemed to annoy him, and then he abruptly ended the call. Seriously, don’t be fooled - check the company number properly because it’s just a fake copycat business.
