That number called my mum and it really upset her to the point of tears! Honestly, whatever you do, don’t pick up if they ring you. They try to bully you, saying your Sky service will be cancelled or that someone’s coming over to collect their gear. They’re absolutely terrible. They’re based in Spain too, so don’t fall for any engineers turning up or fake letters. They just want your cash and then vanish. Seriously, steer clear of them! You can’t trust these lot!

Could someone tell me what exactly Bill Gyoury’s company actually sells? And what was the reason for calling Peter C - were they trying to sell him something? The caller ID showed UK TECH ASSURED or UK TV ASSURED, I reckon.

Hello, I’m one of the partners at UK Tech Assured CB LTD (Company House no. 09477617), also registered in Spain as UK Tech Assured CB (E54834775). We don’t provide insurance, so we’re not obliged to register with the FCA. Every client we've worked with has been satisfied with our service; we’re proud to respond on the same day and fit new equipment within 48 hours after an issue is reported. I’m happy to share any info or documents legally required - my name is here in this message. We are completely legitimate and have taken legal action against Anita Kimbell, who posted false statements. She runs a site called www.uktvcare.com, which is a copy of our old site, including a bogus link about security that’s misleading. Her site lacks even basic protection like an SSL certificate, which is illegal for online payments since it’s not PCI compliant. Our partner company also offers a range of other services, such as web design, online business systems, LED lighting, and more. Regarding Peter C’s experience, we are aware of this issue and immediately terminate any employee found using dishonest sales tactics. Anita Kimbell’s contract with us was ended for exactly that reason. Sorry for the trouble, Peter, and well done for being alert. About James, we believe he’s a longtime scammer in the UK, moving between at least six company names over the years, selling bogus Maintenance Support Plans. He seems to quote FSA details but is clearly not genuine. It’s disgraceful to scam people and then try to ruin the reputation of those of us offering real support plans. How can he live with himself? If you want to get in touch, you can email us at [email protected] or through our partner at [email protected]. Please check our strong security and encryption standards - we put our clients’ safety first, no doubt about it. - caller: UK Tech Assured CB LTD

Im from Altea in Spain and these lot call using a London number. Theyre total scammers. They mainly target elderly and vulnerable folks, constantly bothering them to cough up £198. Proper lowlifes.

Beware of a company called UK Tech Assured or UK TV Assured. They use a London number, but their actual offices are in Altea, Benidorm and Javea, Alicante, Spain. They’re not FCA regulated and are basically scammers. They hassle elderly people nonstop, even going after those with Alzheimer’s or Dementia, pressuring them to hand over credit card details. They charge £198 for supposed three-year protection plans that are totally useless. How do I know? Unfortunately, I used to be employed by them but quit after seeing how awful it all was. I’ve got photos and names of the main people involved which I can share if anyone is interested. Feel free to message me. Please help by sharing this - this needs to be stopped. They've now started a new scheme called Eurotech, trying to rip off £550 from folks in the UK over the phone. Their website is www.eurotech.io. Thanks and sorry for the rant. - caller: UK TECH ASSURED / UK TV ASSURED

Watch out, these lot are definitely scammers pushing some so-called Sky Insurance. As far as I can tell, the company isn’t even listed with Companies House here in the UK, and I reckon they’re actually operating out of Spain. They seem to be dodging the Financial Conduct Authority rules by selling what counts as insurance but without being FCA authorised. To sell insurance properly in the UK, you have to be regulated by the FCA, but these guys use a UK address just to trick people into thinking they’re local. If I were you, I’d get in touch with your local trading standards and also report them to the FCA through their website at http://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/protect-yourself/report-an-unauthorised-firm. The more complaints they get, the higher the chance these con artists will finally be stopped. The caller ID shows: UK TV ASSURED.

I got a call out of the blue where they knew my name and were going on about my Sky insurance being up for renewal. Thing is, I've never had a Skybox or a Freesat dish, so no idea what they were on about with this supposed policy from three years back. Plus, I’d never sign up for anything like this and I keep a close eye on my bank transactions - no dodgy payments anywhere. I’ve read online about similar Sky insurance scams, so I reckon this was some sort of trick to get me to hand over my credit card info or other private details under the pretence of a discounted “renewal.” Once I said I wasn’t interested, they just hung up on me. Bit cheeky if you ask me.

Does anyone have a clue who this number belongs to? Also, can someone tell me where I can do reverse phone lookups without much hassle? Used to be you could just pop the number into Google and get info, but that doesn’t seem to work anymore for some reason. - caller: unknown
