I attempted to register online a few days back but promptly halted when I noticed the card details page didn’t feature a padlock icon, which is essential for indicating a safe and secure connection. Consequently, I decided to terminate the registration process. I consider them rather 'dodgy' for a couple of reasons: 1. That lack of a secure page for entering card details is a significant alarm bell! 2. The fact that I didn’t finish the registration yet they are still approaching me as a potential new customer feels quite presumptuous. I would deem this as unsolicited contact, given that I didn’t conclude the registration. Should they ring me again, I plan to respond and firmly request no further communications, as well as demand that any data they have from my incomplete registration-like my postcode, date of birth, and name-is completely wiped from their records. In roughly 90 days, I’ll submit a freedom of information request to ensure they’ve complied with my demands, or I will pursue legal action. I hope this serves as a cautionary tale for anyone else in a similar predicament.
