Reports on phone number 02036945761
9 yearsI got a call earlier today from 020 3694 5761, with the caller claiming to be from Talk Talk. They said there were some security issues on my account that needed sorting. I was a bit wary but played along just to see what would happen next. When they asked me to pull up my PC and hit CTRL plus some other keys, that’s when I knew something was dodgy. I told them I didn’t really believe they were who they said they were. They then tried to give me a Talk Talk office address to sound legit and even suggested I hang up and ring Talk Talk back on that number to check. I eventually ended the call, but I was curious to see how far they’d try to take it. I’m pretty sure it was a fake Talk Talk call centre even though they tried hard to sound genuine.9 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from TalkTalk. Just hung up straight away. They try and get you to install some software to "fix" your PC - total scam!9 yearsPlease don't say anything when I pick up the phone.9 yearsI got a call from 020369456, which looks like a dodgy number. I’ve had sketchy calls pretending to be TalkTalk too and reported them ages ago before it hit the news. Still getting these calls tonight. Nowadays, I just let unknown numbers ring unless they actually leave me a voicemail.9 yearsOn Saturday morning, 22nd April 2017 around 9, I got a call from this number, claiming to be from TalkTalk. The line was awful and their accents were quite hard to understand. There was a bloke and a lady chatting about my internet being insecure or something. I told them I was fine and didn’t want to be disturbed during breakfast, then I just ended the call.TalkTalk9 yearsWas out when this ring came through, so missed it. Had a couple of calls earlier today from numbers I didn’t recognise and ignored them both. Normally get around two calls a week from people pretending to be Talk Talk. Every time they ring, I tell them straight away that I don’t trust them and that what they’re doing is against the law, and they hang up before I can even finish my sentence. I reckon they picked up my info when Talk Talk had that big hack. Feels like there’s no way to stop it. I’ll block this number, but they just pop up with another one. Proper annoying and stressful.9 yearsSome woman with a really thick accent rang me, and I could barely make out what she was saying. She claimed she was ringing for TalkTalk but never bothered to tell me her name. She said my internet wasn’t secure and wanted me to turn on my PC so she could “fix” something. I told her I wasn’t in a position to do that right now, and she snapped at me, "You can't connect your computer?" Yeah, no way she was a legit TalkTalk person.9 yearskept ringing me back even after i ended the call, called me like 4 times in a row!9 yearsI get loads of calls every day, often about four or more, from different numbers that keep switching. It’s really stressful because my husband’s quite unwell, and I’m always scared it might be the hospital ringing. They start calling early morning and sometimes go on till late at night. It’s honestly a real concern for me.9 yearsGot a call claiming to be from TalkTalk, but it was obviously a scam.TalkTalk9 yearsThis number has rung me three times already. The first time, I decided to call it back, and then they went ahead and rang me yet again. Seems like someone’s definitely on to these calls.9 yearsSomebody claiming to be from TalkTalk kept ringing me, but I looked it up and TalkTalk don’t actually do cold calls. They kept insisting I switch on my computer and got quite pushy, even saying they’d cut off my internet just to show they were legitimate! Obviously, that never took place. I’ve blocked the number now, but I reckon I’ll get more calls since this has been happening since earlier this year, with the callers constantly swapping their numbers.TalkTalk9 yearsThey claimed to be from TalkTalk, but I just ended the call straight away.TalkTalk9 yearsOn 20th April 2017, I got a call from someone claiming to be a "TalkTalk" tech support person. They told me there was a problem with my computer. When I asked about getting some sort of compensation, things escalated quickly and the supervisor ended up swearing at me. Honestly, it was quite funny in the end.9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk, warning that my PC was totally unprotected! It was a woman with a pretty strong Asian accent. She asked me to turn my computer on (as if), I just said I was tied up and ended the call. Later, I verified my computer's safely guarded by Eset. I dialled back their number, 02036945761, from an old unused phone so they wouldn't catch my real line. It rang over a dozen times but no reply.TalkTalk9 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were with TalkTalk. When we asked questions, they seemed to know our address and some other info. They told us there was an issue with our internet and tried to get us to switch on the computer. We just ended the call right away.TalkTalkSubmit Your Own Report (020 3694 5761)
