It's so frustrating how BT just lets these annoying calls keep coming. Wish they’d actually step in and sort it out!

Got a call from this number once on about 17th August 2021, but I didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail left. If it was one of those Microsoft scam calls, I’m pretty sure I’d be able to handle it. What really baffles me is why the Police and Ofcom don’t seem to be able, or maybe just don’t want, to track down and shut these scam calls down.

So, I got a call from this woman called Nora with an Indian accent, and she actually knew my name. She said she was from Microsoft and babbled on about errors on my PC that needed urgent fixing, claiming I was being targeted. Yeah, targeted alright - by these scammers! I just told her straight up to piss off, ‘cause it was clear she was a con. I don’t get why the cops or the phone companies don’t step in and stop this - it's happening way too much and it's totally out of control now.

I’ve received two calls from someone named David, who claims to be from Microsoft. He mentioned that they tried to send me messages regarding a call back, but I haven’t received anything at all. It's worth noting that Microsoft doesn’t usually contact people directly like this. The phone rang again, but before my answering machine could kick in, they hung up! Quite suspicious, if you ask me.

Got a call off this number earlier today. The bloke claimed he was calling from Microsoft, saying they’d been watching my computer and that it’d been hacked. I told him I work in IT so there’s no way that’s true. Then he said if I didn’t cooperate, he’d shut my internet down for good. I just laughed, which set him right off. He started getting really nasty, shouting all sorts like asking how many blowjobs I’d given recently and making gross threats about what he was gonna do to me. I’ve reported it to the police and blocked the number straight away.

I kept calm and even joked about giving him a brew, then reckoned he was calling from Greece. Messed about with him for like 15 minutes. He said he was working out of Reading, which started getting on my nerves. So I told him I’d rip his larynx out with my right hand. He didn’t appreciate that one, so I just ended the call.

This supposed caller claimed to be from Microsoft, warning me my account was at risk. She said my key was linked to my address and invited me to come to Reading for verification. Oh, it must be a good couple of decades back when I received a rather dodgy phone call (not from this number, mind you). The chap on the other end was clearly up to no good, trying to pull a fast one. When he asked for my name, I whimsically introduced myself as Arthur Dent, you know, from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. And wouldn’t you believe it, I still get the odd call for ‘Mr Dent’ even now! This particular call was one of them. I played along and mentioned that Arthur was currently unavailable, but suggested Zaphod Beeblebrox might be able to lend a hand instead.
