Lately I just don’t pick up calls on my landline. Instead, I always ring 1471 to find out who’s calling first because I get loads of unknown numbers. This one was unfamiliar, and after hearing the messages, I’m glad I didn’t bother answering.

I got a call from a woman who sounded like she was from China, saying she was ringing on behalf of "Microsoft". She claimed that some dodgy files had been found on my computer and offered to help fix it. I told her I’ve been poorly recently and hadn’t even touched my computer, so I wasn’t going to check it now. She said she’d ring back another time. When I looked at my recent calls, that same number had already tried me a few days earlier. Funny enough, she did know my last name.

I got a call from a woman, so I just hung up straight away like I always do with scam calls. Then she rang me back, claiming she was from Microsoft and my computer had been hacked. When I asked if it was a scam, she put me through to someone more senior. That bloke started being really rude, asking over and again what my problem was. Honestly, it felt pretty threatening even though I’m not one to get fazed easily. I looked up the number on this site and yep, definitely a con.

This one called saying she was from Microsoft, claiming my PC might be at risk and asked if I’m Mrs X. I told her no, but she kept insisting I must be because the computer supposedly belongs to Mr X. I told her maybe people live together without being married, which seemed to irritate her a bit lol. Then I said I don't even have a PC, just a laptop maybe - she tried pushing that angle, wanting to know who owned it. I said if she’s really from Microsoft, surely they’d know already. She got really rude, an Indian lady, and started calling me an arsehole for not cooperating! Had to give her a proper tongue-lashing. He actually knew my name and address and rattled off a couple of serial numbers to prove it was my laptop. Claimed he was ringing from Microsoft HQ in Reading about some dodgy activity detected on my computer. I was a bit bored, so I played along for a while before telling him my computer was locked away in my office and I couldn’t get to it for an hour. He then said he’d ring me back in an hour. Just had a ring from 02036913153, some bloke calling himself "Robert" saying he was from Microsoft, chatting on about hackers. Sounded like an Indian guy to me. I told him flat out that Microsoft doesn't ring you up out of the blue and that I wasn’t falling for his scam. These scammers from India, whether lads or lasses, are really spoiling the reputation for the honest Indian folks.

I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent who said she was ringing on behalf of Microsoft. She claimed I was listed on some computer owners' register and that there was an issue with my PC. Thing is, I don't have my own computer; I just use one that belongs to someone else. When I asked where she was calling from, she mentioned an address in a business park in Reading, but then she confusingly said she was calling "from here"? Totally felt like a dodgy scam.

Some bloke called Daniel claiming he was from Microsoft, going on about how my computer was full of serious problems. Once I started asking questions, he just hung up on me after a few minutes. Total scam, proper dodgy people.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a foreign accent, asking for my dad even though he passed away not long ago. Then she went on to shout some really rude words at me three times. What a horrible person.

Sounds like a total scam, just fishing for personal details.

Somebody rang me claiming to be Abigail, supposedly my husband's second wife. Definitely a scammer trying to pull one over.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be Steven at Microsoft, sounded like he had a pretty strong Indian accent. He said there was some issue with my PC. After reading some of the other comments on here, I decided to block the number straight away.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me there's a problem with my PC. Wanted me to install this sketchy programme they said would fix it. Lucky for them, I work in software, so I wasn’t falling for that nonsense!

This number keeps ringing me up all the time, claiming they're from Microsoft. Honestly, the easiest thing to do is just to end the call straight away and not bother with these annoying calls.

Got a call from someone calling themselves 'Guardian' but they never left a message or said who they were. After checking out other people’s comments, it’s pretty clear this is just another scam.

Over the past couple of days, I've had about half a dozen calls claiming to be from Microsoft. This morning, the guy on the other end got really mad, shouting at me to grab my laptop and follow his instructions immediately. I just ended the call. No sooner had I done that, he rang back, furious about me hanging up, and let’s just say, I gave him a piece of my mind. Then, not long after, a woman phoned from the same place. When I told her I’m on the TPS, she rudely said I must be daft since that’s meant to block scam calls, which they apparently aren’t. What a nightmare!

If you’re a customer with Microsoft, they don’t ring you first - you gotta call them if there’s a problem! This number kept buzzing my landline today, loads of times. I hung up right away after calling out the caller as a scammer, but then decided to pick up again just to keep them hanging on the line until they gave up. The lady was pretty pushy, even moaned about losing her job ‘cos I wouldn’t chat to her. Seriously! The calls have stopped for now, but I'm sure they'll pop up again. Next time, I might joke and ask if she’s been in a car crash or something!

Got a call today from someone saying they were from Microsoft's 'cyber security' team. It was a bit different from the usual 'technical support' calls I've had over the years. The accent sounded Indian to me, so I’m pretty sure it was another one of those scams trying to get into your PC under the pretence that it’s been compromised. Best just hang up straight away, don't waste time!
