10 yearsSomeone rang claiming to be from the BT tech support, insisting that my broadband security was at risk. Naturally, I decided to hang up on them.BT10 yearsSomeone called me pretending they were from tech support.10 yearsI unwittingly fell victim to a con artist back on the 16th of February, 2016. The caller, claiming to represent Microsoft, lured me in by promising that for just £2.95, I'd be rid of any pesky online hackers for good. I foolishly provided my credit card information, but thankfully, the transaction was declined, allowing me to shake off this rather dubious individual with an Asian accent. I promptly contacted my credit card provider, who swiftly cancelled my card after informing me that an attempt had been made to withdraw a whopping £295.00. Now, we've upgraded our phone to block their number, but just yesterday, they attempted to ring us while withholding their caller ID. I've taken measures to prevent any private numbers from reaching my landline, too! I'm convinced these shady calls are emanating from Asia. I've reported the incident to Action Fraud, but they’ve stated there’s insufficient evidence to take further action. The phone numbers I’ve noted are: 02036829472, 02083628412, and also calls from Private Caller are on my radar. They often claim to be in the vicinity of Western Union Canal in Reading. Beware of their jargon, as they throw around phrases like "TROJAN VIRUSES" and insist that it’s Microsoft dialing!
