Isn't it against the law to make silent calls? I just got one from this number. Someone answered but didn’t say a word.

I’ve got loads of spam calls from these lot, like over a hundred, all about some “government scheme” and saving energy, which is annoying enough, but they even ring before 8am and after 7pm on weekends! I reckon the trick is they want you to hit a number to “unsubscribe” but it’s a rip-off, like £10 a minute or something. My mate tried that and said it didn’t stop, just kept on ringing! The calls show as withheld, but once I got a wrong call from someone offering a “GREEN FINANCE DEAL” and the guy got all passive-aggressive, telling me not to swear - like what? I was raging! I’m on the TPS list, spoke to Virgin who just noted it down but said they can’t do anything, and even the cops took an interest in the number.
