I keep getting emails telling me it's about debt recovery and to call the number provided. I phoned the number and an Indian man answered, said he'd call me back the next day, but never asked for my name. Still waiting on that call back, so now I'm wondering if this is some kind of scam?

On the 3rd of January, I got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming he worked for a debt collection company and that I supposedly owed a large sum of money. He told me they had been trying to reach me many times but with no success. However, no one has ever tried contacting me before, and I’m positive I don’t owe anything. I requested all details be sent in writing but so far, nothing has arrived. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam - does anyone else think the same? Cheers, Roy Newall

I've been getting emails from some "debt collection agency" claiming they'll take legal steps against me. They keep saying they've tried calling me, but they never mention who I supposedly owe money to or how much. I gave their number a ring and dropped them an email, but the call just went straight to voicemail and no one replied to my email asking for details about the debt or creditor. A mate said it's probably a scam and to just ignore it.

For about a month now, I’ve been getting calls from a bloke who keeps switching up his name - one time he’s Steve Buckner, the next Jack Bill, then Sam Romero, and even names like Margaret Ann Johnson, Amanda Jones, and Archibal Wigg. There’s always a short break between calls. He sounds like he’s from somewhere in the Indian subcontinent. At one point, he claimed I owed money for services I never asked for and even threatened legal action. He started off saying he was with Majesco, but later he said he worked for E Mantra. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from this company e mantra, telling me I owed money and it was about debt collection. Total hassle.
