Not sure if it was some sort of scam, but I got a call from a woman with a strong Indian accent, sounded like she was in a noisy call centre. She claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, telling me about some upgrade deals. I thought Carphone Warehouse had shut down ages ago since I used them years back, but turns out they’re still online. My contract was up for renewal, but I decided to pop into my local provider’s shop and sorted the upgrade face-to-face. I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable handing over my info on a call like that.
