You’ll notice most will hang up as soon as a recorded message starts - classic scam sign. Even better, invest in a call blocker. Every time the red light on my phone flashes briefly and then stops, I think ‘another one gone’. I wish someone would invent a way for answering machines to reply with clever messages tailored to certain numbers, like ‘oh great, it’s you again’, which might put them off. Proper mates who ring tend to leave messages; these scam callers never do.
