Loads of folks have flagged this number for making dodgy calls pretending to be from big companies like Amazon Prime, Virgin Media or BT Openreach.
Best bet? Just block it straight away. Never call back or hand over info, it’s just not worth the hassle.

They claimed to be from Virgin Media’s legal department but it was obvious it was just a call centre. They told me there were issues with my internet connection, I told them I wasn’t bothered and then the person started threatening to disconnect both our internet and phone line. The whole tone was really rude and pushy, no sign of proper customer care. If that was the genuine Virgin Media legal team, I was disappointed.

Like someone else said, this bloke only shops around five times a year, which is pretty much how often I do as well. Weirdly, I started getting these calls right after I signed up for the Prime trial. When I tried to cancel, that's when the calls started flooding in. Amazon seriously needs to tighten up their security because this clearly shows there's a leak somewhere. Just a heads up to everyone!

Got a call about a suspicious £300 Amazon gift card purchase, asking if I needed to cancel it. They wouldn’t really answer any of my questions and just kept dodging around the topic. Claimed they were from Visa, but the details they gave about Visa, including the address, were completely wrong compared to the actual London office. They said they wanted to know how "someone" got my card info, which made me think they were trying to get access to my computer or something. Credit for persistence though, they stuck with it for ages! Eventually, they mentioned the card was with Barclays, but I don’t have an account there, so I ended the call. Some woman with an Indian accent rang me claiming there was an issue with my internet. I just told her thanks but no thanks and hung up straight away. These scam calls are really annoying, and I don’t get why nothing seems to be done to stop them. It’s heartbreaking to think about older or vulnerable folks getting caught up in these dodgy scams. You’d think the police would step in and crack down on these fraudsters once and for all.

Somebody called me claiming to be from TalkTalk, saying there was an issue with my internet. They asked me to turn on my laptop so they could check the signal, warning that if I didn’t, TalkTalk would disconnect me in 42 days. I just hung up and blocked the caller straight away.

This isn't the first time they've rung me, and they just hung up as soon as I picked up. Really irritating.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with ‘my’ internet company - Virgin Media - which was odd since I don't even use them. He went on and on about hackers trying to get into my system or something. I asked if he gets paid by the hour or by how many people he manages to con, and he totally denied being some kind of scammer! Then he tried telling me my name was D. Walker or some rubbish. Honestly, BT really needs to tighten up on who they give phone lines to because as soon as one dodgy number gets cut off, about twenty more pop up. These sleazy scammers really deserve to get what's coming to them.

I got a call from this number two times within a day. When I answered, there was total silence but I could hear breathing on the other end. Pretty creepy if you ask me. Definitely seems like another scam trying to get through!

This number rang me earlier. I picked up but kept quiet, and they just ended the call straight away. Checked online and it looks like it might be a scam.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick Indian accent saying he was from Virgin Media Broadband. He reckoned someone in California was trying to hack into my internet. He started asking odd stuff like how many lights were flashing on my router and how many gadgets were connected to my wifi. I kept quiet and didn’t reply to any of it. Then he warned me that they'd cut off my broadband for 45 days if I didn't comply, and just ended the call. Felt like a scam straight away.

Luckily BT Call Blocking sorted it out for me. It stopped the number from ringing again and even wiped the call from my log. Sorted!
