Some bloke called saying he was from a building maintenance firm and that I’d supposedly reported some problems with my house. I’ve never told anyone about any issues, and even if I had, I wouldn’t be calling them myself as I fully own my place. Sounds like a total scam to me!

SCAM ALERT. Blocking these scammers aint much help coz they just ring you from different numbers, so what actually worked for me was to let out a really loud whistle into the phone. Usually scammers dont stick to the same number for ages, especially one with over a thousand views. This one has like hundreds of thousands of views, so im a bit muddled. Scammers often fake real numbers but theres normally comments telling who the number really is. So yeah, not sure whats going on here.

The lady on the phone claimed there was some sort of investigation on me, asked for my name, NI number, and even my address. When I started doubting the whole thing, she just abruptly ended the call. Got three calls today from 0203 654 4553 / 0203 654 4800 / 0203 654 4777. Didn't pick up any of them, cheers to who-called for the info. I’d suggest downloading the free app Hiya, it lets you block all numbers starting with certain digits, like 02036544xxx. I've set mine up that way and it’s saved me loads of hassle. Plus, it’s kinda nice watching those dodgy calls get blocked automatically.

020 3799 7488 keeps ringing me every week about some tax issue. They claim to be from HMRC and leave a voicemail sayin “press 1 to sort it out.” I just hung up and tried callin the number back only to get a message sayin the number’s not recognised. Definitely a scam. Just wanna warn people so no one falls for this. If you get a call sayin it’s HMRC, best thing to do is hang up and then ring HMRC’s official number yourself to check. 020 3906 2505 Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent who asked my name and then just ended the call. When I rang back, she started talking about a magazine that costs £1. Watch out, a while back I got a similar call about some free apps and books. The app turned out to be fake, and instead of charging £1, they took £50 from my account twice.

They rang me like 3 times a day for 4 days straight at all sorts of hours. I didn’t pick up. When I tried calling back, I got Boost Energy’s voicemail, so I just hung up. The next day was the same, but this time, someone with an Asian accent answered, said he was Steven Wyatt from Harv or somethin’, so I ended up hanging up again.

It was from Domestic and General, a legit call. They went through the appliances I’ve got on cover, mentioning each one and the brand. The reason for calling was to let me know they’ve got a new Freephone number and to check if I wanted to add any more appliances, as they’re doing a discount deal.

Like I mentioned, it's Domestic & General. I did ring them recently to sort out an engineer coming round, so it wasn’t totaly unsolicited, but the bloke I spoke to was mostly focused on upselling me some extra cover and telling me they had changed their number. He kept repeating those points to make sure I caught on. I just quickly said my engineer appointment went ‘fine’, thinking he might ask more about it, but he didn’t seem bothered to chat about that at all - so yeah, it was basically just a sales call.

020 3666 4358 rang me and when I picked up there was no one speaking, only some faint noises. Next time they called, I was quite blunt and they just hung up on me. It’s really cheeky of them to bother people like that, absolutely not on.
