Watch out for this one, seriously. Sounds like these are hackers scanning for PBX systems by calling at all hours to check if there’s an answerphone or if the system’s left unattended. I got caught up in this once, so now I’ve saved the number on my phone - I either ignore it or answer and don’t say a word. You can always give ’em a mouthful, but honestly, it won’t change much! Seems like loads of countries have protections against stuff like this, but here in the UK, the government is so close to BT they won’t lift a finger to stop it.

I've been getting calls every day and decided to pick up today. A woman with an Asian accent said it was regarding my business's electricity bill, which we don't even have! When I questioned her, she rattled off my accountant's postcode, so clearly she found us online somewhere. Definitely adding this number to my blocked list - sounds like a scam to me.

The background noise was something else-a typical call centre orchestra, I'd say-requiring me to greet them several times, as their voice recognition software evidently struggled to register my presence. In the end, I ended the conversation after pointing out that this was indeed a sales call, and to my surprise, she chuckled and confirmed it. Quite the farce, really!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've gotten quite a few calls. Usually, a bloke at the other end sounds pretty aggressive, demanding to talk to the manager or a man. The tone is often rude and quite unpleasant. After I hang up, they keep ringing back for about 15 minutes straight. Just today, they called again saying they had chatted with a former company director last week - funny enough, that guy passed away two years ago! When the current director, who’s a bloke, picked up, the caller said "about time a man answered." Told them clearly to stop calling, but since then, I've had about four more calls where it was either an automated voice pretending to be Scottish Power or just silence when I pick up.

It's been such a hassle, these people keep saying they're from the government about some funding grants for small businesses. They said I applied for this grant years ago, like in 2014 or something! They keep ringing me loads, asking questions about how the grant supposedly helped my business over the years. Problem is, I never applied for anything like that and I don't even own a business! I've told them that a million times. They call me at least two or three times a day, every single day. I’ve told them to get lost but they just carry on.
