Without a doubt, this was a scam. I checked with 02 and made sure to report it to them.

Got a call from someone saying O2 would give me 40% off my bills with no catch. Then they asked me to give them a secure code that O2 supposedly sent me - I just ended the call right there.

Someone rang saying they were from O2, trying to get me to believe I could get 30% off my phone bill. They mentioned they’d send me a couple of texts with a code that would only work during that call. I could hear a lot of chatter in the background, like a call centre. It all sounded a bit dodgy and too good to be true. Unfortunately, the call dropped before they finished because of my signal in this area.
