Got a call at 7am, but my missus missed it and it just stopped ringing. So she used 1471 to check the number and jotted it down. The number looked familiar since I’d seen it loads of times on my phone’s recent calls. Turns out, I had chatted with these Pakistani callers before, who kept claiming my broadband was on the blink. I knew straight away they were full of it, so I played the fool, asking daft things like “how do I turn this computer thing on?”, “what’s an icon bar anyway?”, and even “could you help me rescue my cat stuck up the tree?” You could hear him getting more annoyed each time. Eventually, I told him I didn’t like his attitude and just ended the call. Proper laugh that was!

Got a call from this young woman, sounded Indian or maybe from Pakistan, going on like a parrot repeating stuff. I got a call from this number earlier today but it just stopped ringing after a couple of rings. No message or anything left which made me think it’s probably one of those call centres. Seems like there are loads of numbers like this one linked to Holyhead Road on here. Definitely one to steer clear of.

When I picked up, there was an awkward pause that immediately felt off. Then a quiet bloke with an Indian accent started rambling about stopping nuisance calls, but he was all over the place while trying to get me to verify my address - which he oddly repeated back to me. He mentioned my husband as the person living there, but he’s been gone for 8 years now. As soon as he brought up my bank cards, I just ended the call. Honestly, I only said "yes" and "bye" to him.

Got a call from 02036428886, bloke with an Asian accent asked for Mrs something. I replied, “Which Mrs? My mum, sister-in-law, or who?” I’m not even a Mrs! He just kept going on about something to do with Telephone Preference. Since I stopped using BT, I figured TPS might not matter anymore. Never really thought about it. I usually mess with scam calls by acting clueless or difficult. Told him straight up, “Mate, you clearly have no clue who you’re ringing.” Then he just hung up!

From what I’ve seen on here, this number’s just used by scam artists trying to get your bank info. They always speak in some Asian language but pretend they have an English name. Pretty clear it’s just a con.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from Santander. She asked for my card details and a verification code, saying there was an attempt to take money from my account for some insurance I’ve never heard of. I don’t even bank with Santander! Told her to jog on and ended the call. Total scam, watch out.

Got a call off someone claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service, kept calling me 'mam'. The number matched one I’ve seen linked to a Virgin Media scam. I told him it was a scam and he just cut me off.

Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, saying he was with the telephone preference service and that they were stopping numbers from ringing me. When I told him they don’t make outgoing calls, he just dropped the call. Obviously just another scammer trying it on.

I got a call from some bloke from India who actually said my name, then asked if my number ended with a 7. The moment I said it did, he just hung up straight away. Quite strange!
