Got a call from someone saying they were from Appliance Group, telling me I’d been paying insurance on my kitchen gadgets for a couple of years. Didn’t make sense as I never bothered with any insurance cover. I played along a bit to see what details they might have. They insisted I’d signed up and paid by direct debit, but when I asked which appliances were covered, they couldn’t say. The only bank info they gave was the first three digits, which could belong to loads of people. They spoke really smoothly, but just hung up on me in the end.

On 10/03/20, a bloke rang my landline and knew my real name, which was weird. When I asked who he was, he just cut off the call straight away. I tried calling back, but the number came up as no longer in service. I’ve just been in a serious car crash (wasn’t my fault) and it’s currently being sorted with the insurance company.
