so today i got a call from someone claiming to be with vodafone, offering some deal that sounded way too good to be true

Totally dodgy. They rang me about my electricity bill but mentioned EDF as my provider, which I’d actually picked on a dodgy survey site that’s notorious for handing over details to scammers. I knew the call centre straight away since I’ve encountered them a few times before. They switch ringing numbers all the time and usually call themselves “UK energy tariffs” or just “UK tariffs.” Honestly, don’t give these lot any of your real info, they ain’t to be trusted at all.
