Got a call that seemed like some insurance scam, so I just blocked the number straight away.

they just keep ringing from different numbers, blocking one number doesn’t stop them at all, really annoying!

I reckon it’s some kinda dodgy insurance scam!

Just got a call from 0203 6423536 telling me my washing machine warranty had ended - that can’t be right, I bought it like three weeks ago! I was curious, so I asked what brand it was, and he replied Indesit. Mine isn’t Indesit, but it's a pretty popular brand so maybe he guesses. From what others say, they probably try to get your bank info next. Definitely seems dodgy.

I got a call from a lady called Kim, sounded like she had an Indian accent. She was chatting about my washing machine's warranty or something like that. When I asked her to say what brand my machine was, she said that wasn’t her thing and she just handled warranties. Told her exactly what I think about people who pull this rubbish and ended the call. Honestly, these calls come through every day and seem to go mostly after folks over 60.

Got a call from someone pushing a warranty for a washing machine. They somehow had my name and postcode too, which was a bit creepy. Definitely sounded like a scam.

This washing machine warranty scam won't give up, keeps ringing me from different numbers. I've blocked each one but they just ring from a new phone. I make sure to save the numbers as SCAM on my phone so I don't pick up by mistake. Really annoying!

Got a call about some warranty for my washing machine. The bloke was pretty pushy and kept asking for my personal info. I asked him to cancel the whole thing and to send me written proof, but he said he couldn’t do that. He couldn’t even tell me what model I had or when I actually bought it.

I got a call at home and my call blocker asks for a name before I pick up. I thought he said a name I recognised, so I pressed 1 to answer, but the caller was already gone by then. I tried calling back and they said they'd connect me to an agent, but I didn’t wait and just hung up. I’ve blocked the number since then.

Got a call from some insurance lot about my policy renewal. They kept insisting I owned a washing machine. Thing is, I do have one but never mentioned it to them. Feels like a dodgy scam trying to unfold here.

For two days in a row, someone saying they were from our appliance insurance company rang up asking for bank and health info. The first call lasted about 7 minutes and the caller already had my name, address, age and quite a bit more on hand. The next day, it was my wife who picked up, and luckily I was nearby to tell her to just cut the call.

Beware of these so-called warranty people for white goods. If you fall for their rubbish, it could end up quite risky. Definitely stay clear!

How come no one does anything about these folks who keep asking for bank details over a washing machine? It’s so suspicious and annoying.

Got a call saying my washing machine cover was up for renewal. Thing is, I’ve never signed up for any maintenance plan with it. Seems like a total scam to me.

This was quite unsettling. I’ve got my washing machine covered with them, but they never asked me for my bank details until now. On top of that, they wanted to know if I was suffering from dementia!!

I tried to vet the call first, but they just ended up hanging on me.

Got a call from some bloke called Steven, said he was with a washing machine insurance firm. He asked me to confirm my bank details, but I wasn’t having it and said no. Right after, he said he was ending the call. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me. What freaked me out was that he somehow got past my sky screening and even knew my address plus both mine and my husband's names. Proper worrying stuff.

I got a call from a young lady asking about a washing machine warranty. She was trying to reach someone who’s been dead for over six and a half years. She didn’t even know what brand the machine was. After I asked her a few more questions, she just ended the call.

Just got a call from someone saying my washing machine insurance had expired, but I’m not even with that company! I actually just renewed my policy this week, so obviously a scam trying to trick me. What a load of rubbish!

Got a call about some washing machine insurance, claiming my son had bought it last year. Thing is, he’s not even living here. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call from someone about home appliances and it screamed scam to me. She kept insisting it wasn’t dodgy 'cause she only needed my sort code and account number for ID purposes, saying loads of folks share that info anyway. Then she tried to explain why I hadn’t heard of the company, claiming the name had recently changed but she was new and didn’t know the old one. The weirdest part was her saying the only way she’d know my name and that I owned a washing machine was proof she was legit - even though she guessed the machine was about 30 years older than it really is!

This bloke kept ringing me non-stop, saying my washing machine’s warranty was either ending soon or already finished, but claimed I’d paid for some extra cover. He said he needed my bank info before sending over some papers, otherwise they wouldn’t be complete and he couldn’t send them. He reckoned it was safe, even if he set up a direct debit, because I could always get the money back from my bank. He was talking so fast, not letting me get a word in. I finally hung up, but then he phoned back accusing me of being rude. In total, he rang me like six times within just an hour!

I got a call from Appliance Care 24/7 about renewing my washing machine cover. Then they pushed me to sign up for some Platinum Plan for £24.99 a month, saying it was half price for over 60's. I just checked their official website and the number they gave me wasn’t the same, plus that Platinum Plan costs £225 a year there - which is way more than half price! I’m trying to send them an email with what happened, but honestly, this feels like a total SCAM to me now.

Just got a call from some scammer named Casey who told me my washing machine warranty had run out. She tried fishing for my bank account number and sort code, all while reading some scripted nonsense about direct debits. Absolutely shocking how people fall for this rubbish. How they manage to sleep at night is beyond me. She said she had to have my bank details to post me the paperwork. Stay well clear of these dodgy types!

I just got a call from this number saying my Indesit washing machine’s warranty was up. The woman on the line even knew my address and postcode, which freaked me out a bit. She asked for my bank card info but I told her I never share that on calls. She was really pushy about it though. Something felt off, so I said they should post me the paperwork instead so I could have a proper look. Had to say that a few times before I finally ended the call. Then I looked the number up online - sounds like I dodged a scammer there! Proper sneaky behaviour.

Got a call from someone trying to convince me my warranty on kitchen gadgets had run out, sounded proper fishy to me. They were so convincing about renewing it but felt like a dodgy scam, really not safe in my opinion.

Got a random call from a bloke who said his name was 'Mike', though honestly, he didn’t sound like one. He claimed he was ringing from 'Appliance Care 24/7'. 'Mike' went on about my Indesit washing machine warranty being out of date and offered to sort a renewal. Funny thing is, I’ve never owned, nor do I have, an Indesit machine! 'Mike' was straight up making it all up. It’s obvious he’s after your bank info to scam you out of your cash. Don’t fall for it - just ignore, hang up, and block the number. Definitely report him to Action Fraud as well.

Got a call from someone saying they’re from my washing machine insurance, claiming I haven’t renewed it yet. Thing is, I sorted that a good three months back. Not sure if it’s some kind of mix-up, but all I did was tell them to leave me alone and ended the call.
