Got a second call this January, and it went straight to an automated message. It was all about Virgin Money, but I’ve never had anything to do with them. The voice asked me to press 1, which I just didn’t do. When I tried to hang up, the line stayed open for a bit. Just a heads up, make sure you hear the normal dial tone before you fully disconnect - those scammers might still be listening after you think the call has ended.

I switched my landline to silent and pretty much stopped using it, favouring my mobile for all calls. I ignore numbers I don’t recognise - if it’s important, they’ll leave a message. But this number just sends some weird automated voice about pressing 1 or something, never a clear message. Even though I’ve blocked them, the calls still sneak through. So now I just keep the phone on silent and check it on occasion during the day, but honestly, it’s never anything worth my time.

So today just past 1 o’clock, I got a recorded call claiming to be from the NHS telling me to press 1 to get the message. Heard the same thing last week too! I ignored it and didn’t bother pressing anything. Checked this website afterwards - turns out it’s a scam. Avoid it!

The call talked about a Virgin bank account, nothing to do with medical stuff. I didn’t pick up, but I reckon some older folks might’ve got really worried and got caught up with them. My phone rang at 8.10 this morning. There was a message left on my answerphone with some numbers being mentioned. This number keeps calling my landline a lot, twice just yesterday at 8:55am and 1:30pm, and also a couple times on 2nd October. Since we don’t expect calls from the London 020 area, I ended up blocking all numbers beginning with 020. Reading the comments here, looks like blocking them was definetly the way to go!

Got a call today from an automated voice asking if I looked after anyone or if someone looks after me, mentioned something about the NHS and told me to press one to sign up.
