Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas, really pushy about checking my meter. I rang up British Gas myself and they told me it’s a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be linked with EON Next about swapping my electric meter, but when I checked with EON there was zero record of any appointment or request. They told me nothing was noted on my account about it and now I’m getting threats about a £400 charge if I back out of this supposed meter change. Feels dodgy, EON says they’re investigating it as possible fraud.
