Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC saying I’m involved in a tax fraud case. Honestly, I know they never call or email - they always send official letters through post. Just ignore and hang up on them. If there really was an issue like that, I’m pretty sure you’d be dealing with an actual person, not some scammer!

Proper headache this one. Shows up as a London number and somehow they already know my first name. I've blocked it loads of times but keeps calling from different 020 numbers, the woman’s voice is always the same though, but weirdly she used a different name within just a week. Got a bloke on the phone with an Indian accent claiming some revenue folks are gonna take me to court. When I asked for my NIN or any case details, he couldn’t give me owt. Asked for his number and he just started getting rude. These scammers really need to be caught.

Careful with this number, lads. Some guy with an Indian accent called me, saying he could arrange a refund. When I mentioned I was busy at work and couldn't talk, he told me if I wasn’t free, I shouldn’t have picked up! Proper rude behaviour. These people on benefits are actually employed on zero hours contracts with a firm run by crooks who claim lots of benefits using your personal info. Because of this, you might get into trouble with the authorities for claiming benefits you’re not entitled to while working, and it could be really hard to prove you’re innocent.

Got a call while I was making tea, and all I caught was someone saying they were from a holiday company. They asked how I was, which immediately set off alarm bells for me. Then they claimed to have a file saying I’d been on an all inclusive holiday in the past three years. When I said I hadn’t, they just hung up.
