A Nigerian family staying here in the UK. Total bunch of scammers who really ought to get nicked by the cops. Here’s a cheeky idea: hit them back with a counter deal. I wasn’t phoned by this number, but got a very convincing email dated 12/12/2023 claiming to be about a pricey eBay purchase, saying “please call this number if you didn’t order this item” (+44-20 3286 8840). Obviously, I didn’t ring the number but looked it up online instead, and your helpful site flagged it as connected to a loan scam!

On 16/06/2020 at about 8:49, I got a call from someone saying he was officer James from HMRC. He warned me I’d get arrested soon if I ended the call, blaming me for unpaid taxes. He forced me to stay on the line and then accused me of being rude and talking too much, even though I was just trying to explain myself. The way he spoke was so nasty it actually made me cry 😭. After the call, I googled the number and found out it was just another scam. Really feels awful to be tricked like this again.

Said they were from HMRC and said I had a warrant against me. Number was ‭020 3200 8403‬ Definitely a scam.

‭020 5200 7305‬ rang me saying I’m involved in some HMRC fraud case, sounded dodgy to me.

Got a call a moment ago from someone saying they were with Openreach. They mentioned my internet was lagging and offered to fix it. But once I threw some tech questions their way, it was obvious they weren't legit. The bloke couldn't answer a thing and just ended the call when he realised I knew more than him. Looks like just another scam, so be careful out there.

Got a call from 020 3824 7469 earlier, and it was one of those HMRC scam calls again. Definitely spam, so watch out if this number rings you.
